Tuesday 23rd to Wednesday 31st July 2024

Links between Scotland and Ireland are many and varied, reaching back into the mists of time. Two supremely rich Celtic and Gaelic cultures add history and romance against the stirring scenery of a cruise on board Hebridean Princess through the Irish Sea to the Emerald Isle.

Tuesday 23rd July

When all guests had safely embarked in Oban, we sailed to our overnight anchorage in Castle Bay off the Isle of Kerrera.

Wednesday 24th July

This morning was spent cruising south on passage towards the Isle of Islay.

During the afternoon we sailed south through the North Channel on passage to our overnight berth in Londonderry.

Thursday 25th July

After breakfast, guests embarked on a city tour of Londonderry with local guide David Douglas.

We spent the afternoon cruising on passage towards our overnight anchorage off Ballycastle, N.I.

Friday 26th July

Today we landed on Rathlin Island where guests visited the Seabird Centre and enjoyed walks ashore to explore the ‘upside-down’ lighthouse.

Later we sailed to Larne where we berthed alongside overnight.

Saturday 27th July

Our thanks to Trevor Kidd for these amazing aerial shots of Hebridean Princess in Larne.

From Larne, guests visited Glenarm Castle, home to the earls of Antrim for over 400 years.

Our afternoon visit to the Titanic Belfast Exhibition allowed guests to discover the story of the conception, construction and launch of the ill-fated cruise liner.

We anchored overnight off Bangor, Northern Ireland.

Sunday 28th July

From Bangor guests enjoyed a full day exploring the home to the Montgomery family since 1607, Grey Abbey House, including lunch.

Hebridean Princess sailed for Portavogie, where guests re-joined the ship later in the afternoon.

We anchored overnight in Dundrum Bay.

Monday 29th July

Today we travelled to Carlingford where guests discovered the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bru na Boinne, Ireland’s richest archaeological landscape, famous for spectacular prehistoric passage tombs.

We anchored overnight north of Dublin Bay.

Tuesday 30th July

Today was spent exploring Dublin on a city tour during the morning and a visit St Patrick’s & Christ Church Cathedrals in the afternoon.

The Farewell Gala dinner was held alongside in Dublin, Eire where we remained overnight.

Wednesday 31st July

Guests disembarked in Dublin after breakfast and were transferred to the airport for their flights home.
