Tuesday 30th September
Inverness - Culloden and Clava Cairns. Cruise the Caledonian Canal to Fort Augustus.
Discover Culloden, the infamous battlefield where Bonnie Prince Charlie’s Jacobite forces were defeated in 1746, and observe the ancient burial ground of Clava Cairn, before setting sail on the Caledonian Canal, built between 1803 and 1822 to connect the Great Glen’s four lochs. Entering Loch Ness, we pass the romantic ruins of Urquhart Castle, before arriving at the scenic and historic village of Fort Augustus.

Cruise the Caledonian Canal to Banavie and transit Neptune’s Staircase to Corpach. Corpach – Glenfinnan Monument Visitor Centre.
Continue along the canal through Loch Oich and Loch Lochy, before descending Neptune’s Staircase, a set of eight interconnected locks dropping 19 metres into the sea lock at Corpach. Visit the iconic monument honouring the fallen Jacobite clansmen at Glenfinnan, framed by spectacular Highland scenery.

Later, we explore the island capital of Tobermory where brightly painted houses line the waterfront and trace the legacy of Clan Donald at the Museum of The Isles housed in the grounds of Armadale Castle.

The 4 balcony cabins are located on the John Buchan Deck and feature twin beds. The balconies afford privacy and are fitted with teak furniture for you to enjoy the magnificent scenery.

The spacious suite is located at the forward end of the John Buchan Deck and features large picture windows both port and starboard affording delightful views. The sitting area is furnished with a comfortable sofa, coffee table and mini bar.
